Top Maps and Navigation Apps in Portugal Q3 2025

In the third quarter of 2025, the performance of maps and navigation apps on a unified platform in Portugal showcased varied trends in downloads and active users. This analysis, based on Sensor Tower data, highlights the key statistics for the top five apps.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw its weekly downloads peaking at approximately 22.3K in early August. However, by the end of September, downloads tapered off to around 11.9K. Active user numbers showed a similar trend, with a peak of 1.68M in mid-August before settling back down to about 1.39M.

Uber - Request a Ride experienced a decline in weekly downloads from 18.7K at the start of the quarter to 12.8K by the end. Despite this, active users increased significantly, climbing from 878K to nearly 965K, indicating a strong retention rate.

Bolt: Request a Ride maintained a steady download rate, with numbers fluctuating between 10.3K and 14.7K. Active user figures showed a notable increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching 832K.

Moovit: Your Transit Tracker experienced a steady rise in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $2.4K in late September. Downloads also saw a significant increase, reaching over 10.3K in early September. Active users climbed steadily throughout the quarter, ending at nearly 300K.

Finally, Comboios de Portugal showed a positive trend in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads increased from 5.6K to 9K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar upward trajectory, increasing from 157K to about 254K.
